Edmar Castañeda: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert
To my knowledge, this is one of the finest Colombian musicians right now. I had the opportunity of seeing him playing for Paquito D'Rivera's band at the Tanglewood Festival in 2009 and it was really amazing. I strongly recommend his music. He mixes Latin American sounds from different countries and makes his music have a continental flavor rather than being exclusively focused on a region. I have enjoyed his music very much from the first time I listened to it. Here is a brief introduction to his music and the comparison to how his instrument is traditionally played. 5 stars!
